CAMPING & CANOEING THE FRENCH RIVER DELTA

The French River Provincial Park is a water access only Park, meaning that all campsites are on the river and are accessible by only a boat or a canoe/kayak.  There is no camping at Hartley Bay Marina and there are no reservations required for camping in the French River Provincial Park. The campsites are on a first come first serve basis and campers must camp on the designated camping sites which can be located on the French River Provincial Park map by the little red triangles.  Since no two campsites are alike, the French River Provincial Park allows you the freedom to move from one campsite to another each night or to stay at just one for the duration of your trip. Along with your Marina fees, there are charges for camping in the French River Provincial Park and permits can be purchased in the reception center at Hartley Bay Marina.  The Fees are as follows: 

CAMPING FEES (PER PERSON/ PER NIGHT):

ADULTS ……………………………. $8.40

CHILD (AGES 6-17) ……………….. . $3.95

 ONTARIO SENIORS (AGE 65+) …. .. $6.70

CHILD (UNDER 6) …………………. FREE

For persons with disabilities the charges are $4.25 for adults and $2.00 for children per night.

Youth or Special group rates are available for not for profit organizations but that group must bring a copy for their charitable number on the group’s letter head or contact the Park superintendent in advance to receive the discount.

Maximum number of persons per campsite ………….... 9 people

Maximum length of stay on one campsite …………….. 16 days

Maximum length of stay in the Park …………………... 23 days

Campfires are permitted in the Park as long as there is no fire ban.  Campfires cannot be left unattended and must be completely out when you leave the campsite. You can check on the fire ban status when you arrive at Hartley Bay Marina.  We are now renting Propane Coleman stoves for those in need of a cooking device.  The cost of the rentals are $10.00/day, $25.00/weekend or $50.00/week.  Propane is extra. You can book these ahead of time to ensure availability.
