Terrific service. The staff at the marina are very helpful and fast at the launching service. Would recommend them to anyone. It was a pleasure to be able to leave your vehicle & trailer in a secure location at the marina.

Amazing I've been coming here since I was a baby and the staff at Hartley Bay Marina are always fantastic! It feels like coming home every time. The French River is the best place to catch fish and relax - a must visit!

We used Hartley Bay Marina as our start and end points for a four day low French River canoe trip over the 2015 May long weekend. The staff were superb. Very friendly people showed us where to park while we unloaded our gear and then took our car and parked it for us...

the place to launch a canoe or kayak trip from french river to georgian bay This was my 4th French River excursion but the first time I had launched a kayak trip from the French River to Georgian Bay using Hartley Bay Marina as the launch site. Clean, efficient and very helpful staff assisted the two of us, helped us on the navigation, parked our cars and made us feel very comfortable. The staff was courteous.

Fishing partner and I decided to venture into new Ontario waters at The French River (#French River) bass, walleye & pike fishing. We found Hartley Bay Marina cottages. And yes this marina has valet parking… Camping, Fishing, Canoe / Kayak, Guided Tours, Boat Rentals. Give Hartley Bay Marina a chance. I am sure you will not regret the trip.

The Palmers of Hartley Bay Marina, have had the privilege of providing access and services to guests visiting the French River Delta and Georgian Bay in the lovely and scenic Northern Ontario, since 1952. Known for its excellent fresh water pickerel (walleye), bass, pike, muskie and crappie fishing, the French River is also famed as Canada’s first Heritage waterway and its canoe routes and historic shorelines became the French River Provincial Park in 1989. Whether you are launching your boat for a day trip, staying in our traditional fishermen style cottages for a fishing vacation, embracing Canada's Canoe Culture, going on a self-guided canoeing or kayaking excursion, exploring on your own on a backcountry camping paddling trip, or just looking to retreat to your family cottage, the modern facilities at Hartley Bay Marina will be able to suit all of your needs to ensure a great outdoor experience. To get more out of your outdoors this season, take advantage of our seasonal parking and boat storage rates as well as our canoe rentals. Attention Canoeists: Early Spring Canoeing on the Lower French River can be dangerous due to high water levels. Please be aware of the following hazards:

• Water levels may be particularly high, causing normally calm waters to become raging rapids.
• Rapids may occur in locations not shown on The French River map.
• True rapids on the map can be extremely hazardous.

Remember, the characteristics of The French River can change drastically as water levels rise. If the water is abnormally high following spring runoff, normally calm stretches of the river can become turbulent and dangerous. Currents may become heavy in some areas, and only skilled kayakers or canoeists with flotation bags should attempt to paddle the river.

Campsites in low-lying areas can become flooded, and debris can make navigation difficult. Upstream from falls, such as Dallas Rapids, conditions can become extremely dangerous due to the force of currents forcing their way by rocks and obstructions.

Before embarking on a canoe trip on The French River, please check the water conditions and be aware of these hazards. Your safety is our top priority at Hartley Bay Marina.
